History

Sobha Limited, established in 1995 by P. N. C. Menon, is a prominent multinational real estate developer headquartered in Dubai, UAE, with a corporate office in Bangalore, India. The company traces its origins to 1976 when Menon founded an interior decoration firm in Oman, which expanded across the Middle East, undertaking significant projects such as the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque and Al Bustan Palace in Muscat.

Recognising the need for high-quality construction in India, Menon transitioned into real estate development. In 1995, he founded Sobha Developers Limited in Bangalore, aiming to deliver international standards of quality in the Indian real estate sector.

The company’s first residential project, Sobha Sapphire, was launched in September 1997 and completed in 1999.

A pivotal aspect of Sobha’s operations is its backward integration model, which encompasses in-house capabilities in architecture, structural and MEP engineering, and manufacturing of construction materials and interiors. This approach ensures stringent quality control and timely delivery of projects.

In 2006, Sobha Developers Limited became a publicly listed company, marking a significant milestone in its growth. The company underwent a rebranding in 2014, changing its name to Sobha Limited to reflect its expanded operations and global presence.
